For my senior capstone project, I am designing and building a robot capable of transforming between ground and aerial transportation with a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineering students.
We created a SOLIDWORKS drawing packet with GD&T for every part of our design. We have also conducted FEA on all crucial parts. After selecting all of our electronic components, we purchased a drone frame so that we could integrate the control system before we finish manufacturing the chassis. We are building our chassis and linkage system using a combination of machined, 3D printed, and off-the-shelf parts.
